This is a vivid summary of the changes in people’s travel patterns in the past 45 years of reform and opening up.
In the early days of reform and opening up, horse-drawn carriages, ox carts, human-powered carts, and ferries were common means of transportation, and walking was the most common way to travel.
In the 1980s, although private cars had appeared in China, bicycles were the "top class" of transportation. At that time, bicycles, sewing machines and watches were called "three major pieces", and only people with conditions would buy bicycles. Brand bicycles such as Phoenix and Permanent were considered "luxury cars" by people.
At the same time, China’s railways, highways, and air routes continue to grow, and the country’s overall transportation level has improved, but it is still difficult for people to buy tickets, ride cars, and transport, making travel unpleasant for many people.
Entering the new century, private cars have gradually become popular, urban roads are full of traffic and neon lights, and rural roads are clean and spacious, leading to the doorstep of the home. There are also many kinds of public transportation, bus routes have increased, facilities have been improved, taxis have stopped at the beckoning, airplane routes have extended in all directions, and new forms of transportation such as subways and light rail have emerged.
Since the new era, green and low-carbon travel has become a trend, and there are more new energy vehicles of all kinds. Citizens ride electric bicycles or shared bicycles to shuttle through the streets and alleys, and fashionable new energy buses run in a civilized and orderly manner.
Today, our country has built the world’s largest high-speed rail network, expressway network and world-class port group. The "national calling card" – the Fuxing train can reach a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and the "go travel" has become the daily life of Chinese people.
Not only the earth, we went to space, and the "Chinese speed" of space development also amazed the world. As of now, 20 Chinese astronauts have taken the Shenzhou series spacecraft to space for "business trips", and the Tianzhou series cargo spacecraft will be "express" to space, and the China Space Station has entered the operation stage.
"China’s height" and "China’s speed" are constantly being refreshed. We see the heavy weapons of a big country, the projects of a big country, and the forging pace and hard work of ordinary Chinese people.
