Novel coronavirus infection returns to Class B management. Members of the medical and health sector call for caring for medical staff and guarding the rural epidemic prevention gate.

On January 11th, at the group discussion meeting of the 13th session of the CPPCC Provincial Committee, the topic of caring for medical staff appeared, which triggered a heated discussion and became the focus of the CPPCC Provincial Committee members.

In the past three years, the hard work of medical staff is obvious to all. Today, medical staff are still fighting in turn in fever clinics, emergency departments and intensive care units to build a line of defense for patients’ lives and health.

Committee members called for improving the salary and treatment of medical staff, paying attention to their physical and mental health and increasing paid holidays. Some members suggested that "exclusive coupons for anti-epidemic pioneers" could be distributed to medical workers in the province, which would promote consumption and form an atmosphere of respecting doctors and attaching importance to health, so that they could better practice the angels in white oath in their posts.

It is suggested to issue exclusive coupons to medical staff.

At present, the epidemic prevention and control has entered a new stage, but the medical system in various places continues to operate at a high level, and the pressure faced by medical and health institutions has increased.

Xu Li, member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and director of the Second Department of Neurosurgery, Zhanjiang Central People’s Hospital, has a deep understanding of this. He suggested that medical workers in the province should be given appropriate subsidies, including coupons and salary performance, and some medical workers with family difficulties should be given preferential subsidies.

"The year is approaching, and it is very appropriate to issue coupons." Li Feng, member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and deputy director of the Institute of Infectious Diseases of the Eighth Hospital affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University, said that issuing consumer vouchers to medical staff is not only a kind of care and encouragement, but also reflects the atmosphere of respecting doctors and attaching importance to health, and can also promote consumption and help economic growth.

Xu Li’s idea was praised by the members. Everyone said that it is necessary to ensure the reasonable rest and vacation time of front-line medical staff as much as possible, pay attention to their mental health and avoid overwork. It is suggested to add paid vacations for medical staff to better protect people’s lives, health and safety.

Medicine can go down, but people can turn it up.

The Spring Festival is approaching, the population movement is accelerating, and a large number of urban migrant workers are returning home. The risk of transmission in Covid-19 has increased, which has brought certain challenges to the prevention and control of epidemic situation in rural areas.

On January 8th, the epidemic prevention and control in COVID-19 officially entered a new stage, which was changed from "Class A tube" to "Class B tube". Li Feng suggested that some monitoring points in rural and urban communities should be added on the basis of the influenza surveillance network, so as to dynamically grasp the incidence level and changing trend of population infection in a timely manner.

"The medicine has to go down." Bi Xiaoli, member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and director of the Chinese Medicine Analysis Research Office of the Second Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, suggested that the application scope of in-hospital preparations of traditional Chinese medicine should continue to be expanded, and symptomatic drugs should be used in Chinese medicine clinics, community health service centers and village clinics to realize the downward shift of customs and the diversion of patients, and strive for precious treatment time as much as possible.

The greater test lies in the pressure of severe treatment in rural areas. Lin Zhousheng, member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and director of the medical department of the Second People’s Hospital of the province, suggested that in a special period, primary medical institutions can be paired with tertiary hospitals to establish an efficient referral mechanism to ensure that critically ill patients at the grassroots level can be transferred. "Severe patients in rural areas can be transferred to county hospitals first. If they exceed the capacity of county hospitals, they will be referred to tertiary hospitals at higher levels."

Yang Jie, member of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and director of the Department of Neonatology, Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University, suggested that we should be good at using Internet technology to set up a professional ICU remote consultation team to respond quickly to critically ill patients, so as to win the golden window.

In view of children’s infection with Covid-19, Yang Jie said that medical resources in rural areas are relatively weak, and if children are not treated in time, it may cause serious consequences such as neurological sequelae. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the reserve of anticonvulsants for children and distribute them to rural primary medical units so that people in need can use good drugs.
