What is snooker?
English billiards is a kind of English billiards. Snooker is a transliteration of English snooker. Snooker players pay attention to the accuracy and speed of attack, but in fact, snooker means "obstacle", that is, "defense", so snooker is sometimes called obstacle billiards. After a strike, because of the obstruction of the dead ball, the opponent can’t hit the main ball to make it pass through both sides of the free kick in a straight line at the same time, which is called snooker. Opponents are called "snookered". When you still lag behind your opponent even if you get the highest score on the table, you need to do snooker to force your opponent to make a foul penalty.
The table used in snooker is about 3,569 mm long and 1,778 mm wide. There are holes in the center of the four corners and two long sides of the table. The balls used are divided into 22 balls: 1 white ball, 15 red balls and 6 colored balls (yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black). The order of hitting the ball is a red ball and a colored ball until all the red balls fall into the bag, then hit the ball one by one in the order of yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black, and finally the one with the highest score wins.
There are quite a lot of props!
Snooker talcum powder: used to coat the club head to enhance the friction between the club and the cue ball. Talcum powder is usually pressed into cube talcum powder blocks.
Club: a wooden tool used to hit the cue ball.
Stick: A short stick added to the end of the club to increase the length of the club and help the player hit the cue ball when it is far away from the player.
Rack: A wooden pole with a copper X-shaped head for supporting the club. When the player’s non-holding arm is not long enough, the club can be leaned against the rack to hit the main ball stably.
Tripod: Similar to the pole, but the head is arched and the head is bigger, so it can be put on top of another ball to swing the ball.
Locator: A device with an angular or semicircular ball-catching opening, used to determine the exact position of the ball. With its help, the ball can be put back to its original position accurately after being wiped in the middle of the game.
Triangular frame: a triangular frame used to arrange all the red balls in a standard regular triangle before the start of the game.
With so many balls on the table, how to play them?
Snooker has 22 balls, including 15 red balls, 6 colored balls and 1 white ball. Red balls and colored balls are used to score points, and white balls are used to hit them.
Before the kick-off, both sides can decide who will kick off first by flipping a coin. The kickoff side can put the white ball anywhere in the kickoff area to hit the red ball. After that, where the white ball stops, it must be played from what position. Each side must first score a red ball and then choose a favorable colored ball to play. After the colored ball is scored, it needs to be taken out and put back to its original position (that is, where it was before the kick-off). Then, play red balls and colored balls, and so on until all the red balls are in the bag. After that, you must play colored balls in a certain order-yellow balls first, then green balls, brown balls, blue balls, pink balls and black balls. At this time, when a colored ball is put in, there will be one less colored ball on the table (it is no longer necessary to take out the bagged colored ball and put it back to its original position), until all colored balls are bagged and only white balls are left on the table, and the game is over.
A process from the beginning until all colored balls and red balls are hit into the bag is called a game. In the whole goal-scoring process, if one side fails to score a goal successfully or hits a bad ball, then he has to give way to the other side to play. The process of continuous successful goals is called "one shot".
The outcome of each game is determined by the number of points scored by both sides, and the winner is the one with more points. There are two ways to score: one is to score by scoring goals, and the other is to score by punishing the opponent’s mistakes. Score 1 point for a red ball, 2 points for a yellow ball, 3 points for a green ball, 4 points for a brown ball, 5 points for a blue ball, 6 points for a pink ball and 7 points for a black ball. When playing the red ball, if the white ball fails to touch any red ball, it will be fined 4 points; If you touch a colored ball by mistake, you will be penalized according to the score of the colored ball.
A game can be decided by playing one game or three games, five games and seven games. The final of the world professional championship is usually 35 games.
In a word, the rules of snooker are very complicated, but they can usually be obtained in practice.
Ding Junhui: I have never won here!
The snooker Masters, formerly known as the Wembley Masters, was held at Wembley for the last time in 2011 and moved to Alexandra Palace in London in 2012. For Ding Junhui, this was once one of his blessings. The first shot of his career, 147, was born here, and he won a championship and a runner-up here.
The 2014 Snooker Masters was held in London as scheduled, and Ding Junhui, who received much attention, made his debut against Murphy. However, the game originally planned to start at 1 pm local time on January 14th (21: 00 Beijing time) was forced to be delayed due to a sudden power outage. After 75 minutes, the game resumed, and the two men fought until the early morning of Beijing time yesterday. Ding Junhui, the favorite of the final championship, lost four games in a row under the bright prospect of 4-2 lead, and finally lost to Murphy 4-6, and suffered a "round tour" here for three consecutive years.
The power supply system of the whole Alexandra Palace broke down, which made the two players and the audience suddenly "broken". Jimmy, the live cameraman, picked up the guitar and sang, and the audience raised their mobile phones one after another. The originally bright stadium suddenly became a concert scene with stars. The two players went back backstage and waited bored. In the meantime, Ding Junhui did not forget to ridicule on the Weibo: "The stadium is out of power! I asked for at least 50 minutes just now, but I’m not sure! I haven’t encountered this thing yet. Is it popular now? "
The power recovery time is as long as 75 minutes. Judging from the results, this year’s Masters Tour, for Ding Junhui, has the same ending as the previous two years-"a round tour". Ding Junhui, who was still leading 4-2 after the first six games, made more mistakes from the seventh game, and was finally defeated by Murphy for four consecutive games.
In the past 2013, Ding Junhui completed a sublimation and won four large-scale ranking championships. During this period, he won three consecutive championships, and the momentum was unparalleled. However, when he came to the Masters again, Ding Junhui suffered the same ending as the previous two years and missed the championship early. I hope, as Xiaoding himself said, he needs more practice in order to find his hot hand again. Our reporter Ding Yaoyao
